Alicia Keeney Whitaker is the current owner and operator of Ingram School of Dance.  She purchased it in 2017 from Pam Boehme Simon who owned and operated the historical studio from 1986 to 2017.  The studio’s founder, Mary Alice Ingram Callahan, headed up Ingram School of Dance from 1933 to 1986.

Miss Alicia was born and raised in Bridge City, Texas.  She came to Ingram as a little girl and danced here all the way through her senior year.  For her senior solo, Miss Alicia performed a classical pointe variation.  One of the difficult solos one can attempt, she danced it beautifully!

In addition to all her dance classes at Ingram, while in high school, Miss Alicia was a Bridge City Strutter all four years, and was named Stutter of the Year as a Freshman!  She also danced with the prestigious Beaumont Civic Ballet Company for several years, performing in all of their ballet productions including The Nutcracker each Christmas.

After graduation, Miss Alicia began teaching at Ingram.  One of her proudest accomplishments during that time was single-handedly founding the lyrical program at Ingram. The photos below are from her farewell performance when she left Ingram to raise her babies.   Eventually, she took over and operated successfully for several years her own studio, Studio C, in Bridge City.  When Miss Pam was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and needed help, Alicia, without hesitation, came to her aid.  We are so happy to have her “home” again.
